The Alumni Association of the Booker Washington Institute has called on
President Sirleaf to complete the formation of the institute’s Board of
Governors.
The association said unless the formation of Board of Governors is
completed, the campaign to elevate the institute to a technical college
will remain a difficult task.
The association regrets that since the Board was re-constituted in
December last year, the Executive Mansion is yet to officially appoint
its members.
A statement issued by the association sees the delay as a factor
hampering efforts to move ahead with the draft bill on BWI’s elevation.
BWI alumni said they are unanimous in their drive to see their alma
mater upgraded.
